The Procurement Manager is responsible for global procurement of raw materials, parts, and subcontracted fabrication for engineering projects. This position oversees the overall procurement process starting with identifying (future strategic) needs including input on the sales process regarding costs and available capacity and owns all sourcing activities from supplier selection until close-out.
The procurement manager builds and maintains a global network of suppliers and sub-contractors, creating technical enquiries (RFQ), soliciting & evaluating bids, negotiations, issuing and managing purchase orders and contracts including closeout and invoicing. The Procurement Manager will liaise with stakeholders on all procurement related activities. One of the primary goals for this role is to maximize value creation by identifying and leveraging competitive advantages and highlighting and implementing best in class global sourcing solutions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

· Identifies organizational needs and fulfills the procurement requirements in line with contractual obligations of the organization, while maximizing competitive advantages.
· Determines Global sourcing capability to include finding, benchmarking, qualifying, and maintaining relationships with suppliers world-wide to allow best global sourcing options for projects based on customer needs.
· Controls all activities related to subcontractor manufacturing from initial RFQ, selection, thorough review, and drive optimization of scope of work, draft negotiate & close contracts, issue purchase orders, manage execution, invoicing, and close-out while maintaining strong long-term supplier relationship and simultaneously reducing costs.
· Works closely with Project Management in the timely maintenance of milestone dates and escalation of issues related to goods being procured being on time, according to specification and quality, within the available budget, in the right quantity and available at the right location.
· Serves as an engaged thought partner during project sales process giving input on cost, available capacity, and best-cost fabrication/transport options.
· Maintain positive and supportive communication with customers and/or other team members in a manner that builds trust and leads to efficient and effective problem resolution.
· Effectively performs company-wide consolidation of similarly purchased goods to optimize the supplier base.
· Drives and owns vendor performance rating and follow-up actions with involvement and input of engineering, quality control, project management and sales, addressing supplier development needs and supplier (dis-)engagement.
· Oversee end-to-end process for all goods and services.
· Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Education & Experience:
· A bachelor’s degree in business or a related field and 5 plus years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
· Successful, multi-year track record in Project Procurement.
· Good basic understanding about manufacturing technologies especially regarding fabrication technology for steel structures/components.
· Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills (multiple complex analyses simultaneously).
· Strong planning/project management and negotiating skills are essential.
· Prior experience in the Engineer-to-Order, and/or commercial industrial manufacturing industry is required.
· A team player with a bias for action and driving projects to completion.
