What you will be a part of
Market Area Europe covers all European countries, including the Nordic and Baltic countries and is part of the global Saab AB marketing organization. The head office for Market Area Europe is in London and we have 7 Country Units covering the main CU Head Office, satellite offices, focus and prospect countries. The Country Unit Offices are Finland, France & Benelux, Northern Europe, Poland & Baltics, Central & Eastern Europe, Southern Europe and the UK.

Country Unit France & Benelux covers four countries (France, Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxemburg). The head office is in Paris with offices in Brussels and Apeldoorn.

Your role
Are you a strategic thinker with a strong drive for building relationships and driving business growth? In this role, you will be a key player in expanding Saab’s presence in the Netherlands and supporting the Country Manager in achieving the order intake targets and long-term business goals for Saab in The Netherlands. You will work closely with both local and global teams to identify new opportunities, strengthen partnerships, and contribute to our long-term success in the region.

We are now looking for a Government Key Account Manager for The Netherlands in the Civil Security, Commercial Aeronautics and defence domains in Country Unit France & Benelux. You will be based in The Netherlands and you will be responsible for supporting Saab’s marketing and sales activities in The Netherlands and Belgium in these domains. You will be reporting to the Director Marketing & Sales, Country Coordinator for The Netherlands, with a dotted line reporting to the Country Coordinator Belgium for the Belgian market.

In The Netherlands Saab has a footprint of approximately 60 people based in Apeldoorn, with satellite offices in Zeist and Amersfoort. You will be expected to work independently to further develop business in the Dutch and Belgian markets in the above-mentioned domains.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and executing business strategies to grow Saab’s market presence in The Netherlands;
  • Support the marketing and sales of the Saab product portfolio in the Civil Security, Commercial Aeronautics and defence domains in The Netherlands (execute market analysis, strategy development and other initiatives to grow Saab’s business in The Netherlands);
  • Building, maintaining and further develop strong relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders
  • Identifying new business opportunities and ensuring accurate reporting in our CRM system
  • Representing Saab at industry events, exhibitions, and business development activities
  • Collaborating with the Country Manager and business units in Sweden to achieve strategic goals
  • Supporting country-specific business development initiatives and improving processes;
  • Contribute to the delivery of order intake and gross margin in accordance with set budget;
  • Secure profitable orders of Saab solutions from new customers;
  • Marketing and sales point of contact for the customer.

Your skills and experience

  • Bachelor, civil security/public safety domain and/or other relevant education in Marketing & Sales;
  • Strong customer network within civil security domain in The Netherlands and preferably also in Belgium;
  • Bid management experience, including European tender processes within the civil security and defence domain (at least 5 – 10 years);
  • Demonstrable experience of selling complex technical products and services to customers that need mission critical systems and with a proven network in the political arena and relevant Ministries;
  • Analytical and strategic skills to identify and develop business, local partnerships and market network ;
  • An entrepreneurial personality;
  • Possess a good product knowledge in terms of technical base specifications and commercial aspects in order to be able to assume a Customer Sales Responsibility (CSR) role;
  • Service-minded, flexible and committed to delivering high quality and meeting deadlines in a fast moving international environment where decisions are followed by prompt action ;
  • You are an excellent communicator, able to present professional and compelling presentations, documents and proposals.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English. Other languages are desirable such as French and/or Swedish;
  • Experience of the local business environment in The Netherlands.

Eerste gesprek
Bij onze opdrachtgever voer je het eerste gesprek op locatie of online. Dit gesprek draait om het leren kennen van de organisatie, het team en de specifieke eisen van de functie. Een mooie kans om jezelf te presenteren en meer te ontdekken over jouw potentiële nieuwe werkplek.

Tweede gesprek
In het tweede gesprek bij de opdrachtgever gaan jullie dieper in op de inhoud van de functie, jouw rol in het team en wederzijdse verwachtingen. Dit gesprek kan ook gebruikt worden om praktische zaken, zoals arbeidsvoorwaarden of een mogelijke startdatum, te bespreken. Soms maak je ook kennis met meer teamleden of leidinggevenden om een compleet beeld te krijgen.

Aanbod
Als alle gesprekken positief zijn verlopen, ontvang je een aanbod van de opdrachtgever. Hierin worden de arbeidsvoorwaarden, salaris en overige afspraken vastgelegd. Uiteraard staan wij klaar om je te adviseren en eventuele vragen te beantwoorden, zodat je met een goed gevoel de volgende stap kunt zetten in je loopbaan.
