OPERATIONS MANAGER – INDUSTRIAL AIR SOLUTIONS (IAS)

What is your role as an Operations Manager?

The Operations Manager is end responsible for project execution for our European CECO Industrial Air Solutions Team (IAS). This is a fairly new business unit in CECO and the priority is to make this business unit to a big success with focus on Europe. We are looking for an Operations Manager who can work hard, is decisive, likes to solve problems and is always looking around to help but also to make decisions in order to focus on the most important task; growing the business unit. This position includes independent Project Management, Design Engineering, Sales Support and Estimating activity, Management of engineering and operations staff who work in project execution, and coordination of inter-brand engineering functions.  Your Main responsibility’s will be Supervising of CECO IAS inhouse and contract technical staff, and Independent responsibility for the following technical services:

  • Sales support activities including customer interface as needed
  • You will develop project scope of work and cost estimates
  • Responsible for client communication related to in-house projects
  • Coordinate inter-brand engineering and estimating functions for IAS
  • Schedules/reviews critical path items for projects and ensures on time performance
  • You Supervise Project Manager reports within IAS and also independently manages projects, including adherence to project scopes, budgets and schedules
  • You Develop, support and direct inhouse and outsourced drafting activities
  • Reviews, marks-up and corrects design drawings made by others
  • Coordinates fabrication of IAS projects through outsource fabricators
  • Responsible for budget tracking, triggers monthly invoicing, issues status reports
  • You will Coordinate field work activities
  • Develops technical reports summarizing the findings of field investigations
  • Prepares engineering design packages and other related documentation

What do we need from you?

  • BS degree in Mechanical, Structural or Chemical Engineering.
  • Must have 8+ years engineering experience and at least 3-5 years of experience leading a project execution team. Preferred background in the process, industrial dust collector industry and/or fluid separation systems.
  • Experience in working within an International company or/and travelled often to other counties.
  • Preferably you can speak Dutch, but English is very important.
  • Experience interfacing with marketing, sales and vendors and, experience leading project execution teams with P&L responsibility.
  • Savvy working with multidisciplinary, intercultural teams.
  • Ability to overcome obstacles to achieve goals and adapt to a changing environment.
  • Experience using MS Office, Excel, and other normal business software.
  • Proficient in the use of CAD 3D (Inventor, NX, SE etc).

Occasional travel is required. Ability to travel across borders.
