About the team:

The CMS Segment within our Naval organization is responsible for the development of Combat & Information Management Systems for naval vessels and their integration with sensor and weapons systems. These complex systems incorporate advanced solutions in the fields of information processing, information management, user interaction, and sensor and weapons control. As such, our TACTICOS Combat Management System offers essential support for missions ranging from combating piracy to defense against long-range missiles. The CMS segment is responsible for the engineering and delivery of qualified software and hardware.

 

About the job:

As a Work Package Manager, you will manage work packages for several scrum teams. You are responsible for the definition of the Work Package (scope, budget, dependencies, risk, …) and the execution of it in the scrum teams. You have your project planning and administration in place and will report the progress of the Work Package to the Engineering Delivery Manager.

The Work Package Manager is a part of the Product Team that consists of a Lead Architect, Chief Product Owner, Quality Manager, Test Manager, and Engineering Delivery Manager.

 

The main tasks are:

  • Define and hand over the Work Package to the Scrum Team and ensure that you have a realistic planned project (Scope, Budget, Time);
  • Controlling the execution of your project;
  • Planning the upcoming work, having a global long-time capacity planning in place;
  • Reporting the progress of your work packages, escalating when needed;
  • Supporting teams in becoming well-performing agile software development teams working as part of a large-scale agile development project;
  • Managing the workload of the teams to ensure schedules are being adhered to;
  • Defining, monitoring, consolidating, and reporting on progress.

 

Why you'd be a good match?

  • Master’s degree or Bachelor degree, preferably Computer Science or Information Technology;
  • Proven project management skills (IPMA, PMI degree is a plus);
  • You have a proven experience in an agile Software Engineering environment;
  • Experienced in leading teams and acting as a mentor to assigned staff; willing to engage and develop your team using collaborative work and challenging approaches;
  • You are result-oriented, with a strong focus on delivery on time and within budget;
  • You take initiative and are pragmatic;
  • You have good interpersonal skills with the ability to manage expectations and explain technical issues at a high level;
  • You are a good planner and organizer;
  • Ideally, you are fluent in both English and Dutch.
