                                                            R&D Manager – Coatings

As a R&D Manager for the coatings department, you are leading projects that lead to the development of a new generation of coatings and to meet the increasing performance and environmental demands of the ferrous and non-ferrous markets. Developing improved testing procedures to measure the quality and performance of coating products, raw materials or formulations within the laboratory environment will absolutely be a part of this job as well.

You bring a new dimension to our development of coating product formulations, in terms of chemistry, material science and application technology. You provide your team with constructive clear feedback and mentor employees so they can succeed in their role. You show true leadership and are the mentor/coach who can motivate and support people. In addition to this you can work with a broad cross section of people from top managers to internal/external supplies and customer,

 Another aspect of the role will be bringing a more fundamental approach to our development efforts. In addition, the job holder will be capable of recognizing and evaluating appropriate technologies of potential value taken from non-related industries. The ability to think freely and work independently are key to this role.

Who are we looking for?

• You have a Master’s degree in Chemistry, material science or related science/engineering field.
• You have at least 5 years of experience working in a R&D or commercially driven organization after graduation.
• We are looking for a candidate that has 5 or more years of experience in new product development with an affinity towards coating and/PR binder technology.  
• You are responsible for aligning, coordinating and managing the regional R&D team as well as the global production teams.
• Be actively involved in local and global development to maintain high production quality.
• Significant knowledge of materials science and coating technology as well as experience with project management are required for this role.
• You possess wide technical/scientific culture: able to communicate with professionals from various disciplines.
• Effective relationships building with client and teams.
• Experience with high refractory products and DOE is desirable.
