What you will be part of

Saab Traffic Management (TM) serves customers around the globe with advanced solutions that enable the safe and efficient movement of people and goods. There are three operating units within TM: Air Traffic Management (ATM) provides air traffic control tower systems and surveillance sensor systems;  Maritime Traffic Management (MTM) solutions include Automatic Identification Systems (AIS), port and Vessel Traffic Management Information Systems (VTMIS), hydrographic; Public Safety and Security (PSS) which is the world leading solution provider for mission critical integrated operations.

In ATM of Saab Technologies, we develop full air traffic control systems for the tower operations. All flights on and around the airport are planned, monitored and controlled by our system, providing the essential tools for the air traffic controllers to perform their tasks as safe and efficient as possible.

The ATM department consists of an enthusiastic team of project managers, systems engineers, installation managers, software engineers and support engineers. The products of Saab are applied in various projects worldwide, in the area of Air Traffic Services inside air traffic control tower at airports and remotely allowing control of multiple airports from one location.

We currently looking for a Project System Engineer ATM.

Your role

We are looking for a Project System Engineer within Air Traffic Management, who is capable of quickly becoming proficient in the application of our operational systems. You will be involved in proposal, system design, system integration and testing, acceptance and warranty phases for system engineering aspects. For your role, you will be traveling approximately 25% of your time.

You are responsible to:

  • Effectively contribute to the realization of projects worldwide;
  • Map customer requirements to system solutions based on Saab Integrated Air Traffic Control Suite product;
  • Design customer specific solutions and coordination with software development;
  • Develop external interface specifications, system design documents and acceptance test documents;
  • Configure, integrate and test the system in factory and on site;
  • Execute factory and site acceptance testing;
  • Perform activities based on applicable policies, guidelines, cost awareness, rules and procedure (incl. those related to health and safety, quality and environment).
  • Advise on the development of Saab products, process improvements and technical capabilities in commercial projects;
  • Contribute to the realization of proposals and quotations for customers;

Your experience and skills

  • Higher degree in a relevant subject or relevant experience;
  • Communicate fluently in English, both verbally and written;
  • Analytical thinker, flexible and creative;
  • Planning and scheduling skills;
  • Knowledge of system and software engineering;
  • Knowledge of Linux, network and security; (Linux, CentOS en Oracle Linux, Python, Bash, Foreman, Salt, Docker(future), VirtualBox, VMWare); 
  • Understanding of Air Traffic Management (preferable);
  • European Union residency or work permit / visa / citizenship in the European Union.
