What you will be a part of:
Saab Traffic Management (TM) serves customers around the globe with advanced solutions that enable the safe and efficient movement of people and goods. There are three operating units within TM: Maritime Traffic Management (MTM) solutions include Automatic Identification Systems (AIS), port and vessel traffic management information systems (VTMIS), hydrographics, and precision navigation; Air Traffic Management (ATM) provides airport surface safety and efficiency systems and tools, tower automation and advanced research, development and evaluation solutions. Public Safety and Security (PSS) which is the world leading solution provider for mission critical integrated operations. In the Operations department of Saab Technologies, all solutions to functional challenges are defined, designed, implemented, integrated and tested.

The Operations department consists of an enthusiastic team of software engineers, systems engineers, product managers and support engineers, organized in Scrum development teams. The final software products of Saab are applied in various projects globally, in the area of Vessel Traffic Services, Offshore Platform Protection and Coastal Surveillance systems.

We currently looking for a Scrum Product Owner for Maritime Traffic Management (Software Development)

Your Role

  • Supports the Product Manager in developing and promoting a vision about the product. Retrieves the required level of detail of Product Backlog items from stakeholders or customers.
  • Clearly expresses Product Backlog items.
  • Orders the items in the Product Backlog to best achieve goals and missions.
  • Ensures that the Product Backlog is visible, transparent, and dear to all, and shows what the Scrum Team will work on next.
  • Ensures the Development Team understands items in the Product Backlog to the level needed.
  • Co-operates with the Scrum Team to achieve best possible performance.
  • Optimizes the value of the work the Development Team performs.
  • Deciding whether Product Backlog items are ready for software development.
  • Managing Product Backlog items (add, update, remove, order).
  • Accepting or rejecting Product Backlog items for completion.
  • Keeping stakeholders informed about progress of the software developments.

Your skills & experience:

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited institution in relevant field.
  • Communicates fluently in Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the product and the business.
  • Good leadership, planning and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Agile Methodology, frameworks and techniques.
