Saab Traffic Management (TM) serves customers around the globe with advanced solutions that enable the safe and efficient movement of people and goods. There are three operating units within TM: Air Traffic Management (ATM) provides air traffic control tower systems and surveillance sensor systems;  Maritime Traffic Management (MTM) solutions include Automatic Identification Systems (AIS), port and Vessel Traffic Management Information Systems (VTMIS), hydrographic; Public Safety and Security (PSS) which is the world leading solution provider for mission critical integrated operations.

In ATM of Saab Technologies, we develop full air traffic control systems for the tower operations. All flights on and around the airport are planned, monitored and controlled by our system, providing the essential tools for the air traffic controllers to perform their tasks as safe and efficient as possible.

The ATM department consists of an enthusiastic team of project managers, systems engineers, installation managers, software engineers and support engineers. The products of Saab are applied in various projects worldwide, in the area of Air Traffic Services inside air traffic control tower at airports and remotely allowing control of multiple airports from one location.

We currently looking for a Product Integration Engineer ATM.

Your role

As Product Integration Engineer you are part of an international product development team located in Apeldoorn, Syracuse (USA) and Gothenburg (Sweden) that is responsible for the validation of the Integration ATC suite (IATS). The IATS is an advanced tool set build up with more than 50 different software components that are spread out over various computers. As a Product Integration Engineer you will receive updated software components and get these to work within the overall system. As the system is modular and flexible, the components are configured with an extensive adaptation set and a set of scripts to adjust to any setup that a customer requires. Your role is to manage the full set of adaptation and the scripting.

You are responsible to:

  • Integrate new functions into the system
  • Setup and maintain the product reference system including the network
  • Prepare and handoff the formal test system to the test team
  • Perform root-cause analysis on reported product problems
  • Coordination of reported issues with developers
  • Advice project teams in getting the system adjusted to the local situation
  • Assist project teams in fault finding

Your experience and skills

  • Higher degree in a relevant subject or relevant experience;
  • Preferably 3 or more years of experience as Integration engineering;
  • Communicate fluently in English, both verbally and written and preferably in Dutch;
  • Knowledge of Linux, Python, network (cisco) and system hardening;
  • Understanding of Air Traffic Management (preferable);
  • European Union residency or work permit / visa / citizenship in the European Union.
